Nazia Taylor MSc.Metanoia FounderChild Psychologist and Psychotherapist
CI, CBT, DBT, EMDR, MBSR, CPRT Qualified Children are my favourite people.
As a licensed Child Psychologist and Psychotherapist, I work with children, teenagers, and youth from the ages of 4 to 24 years old. I use a multidisciplinary approach to work within the context of a child’s life, recognizing the uniqueness of each child’s capacity and potential, while maintaining a holistic view of their individual development. |
By blending various modalities I have successfully administered psychoanalytic therapy for children with various emotional or behavioural difficulties, such as anxiety, phobias, aggression, self‑harming, depression, psychosomatic disorders, attachment disorders, and eating disorders, among others.
All behaviour is communication. My service is to support and guide by observing children and responding to what they reveal through their behaviour and play. I provide assessments and tailor my approach to the individual child in an age-appropriate way, to provide both short-term and long-term interventions. These processes involve their family, guardians, and/or school.
With a Master's Degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Liverpool, I am also a student of Neuropsychology and Neuroplasticity. My Psychotherapeutic trainings include CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction), EMDR Level I & II (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), CPRT (Child Parent Relationship Therapy), underpinned with the foundational approach of Compassionate Inquiry by Dr Gabor Maté.
These therapeutic interventions have consistently proven to enhance mental wellbeing, improve cognitive performance, and reduce emotional anxiety in children by advancing their awareness and intimacy with their inner world.
Metanoia Seven is dedicated to the Psychological wellbeing of children and youth, and serving families in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, and South Africa. We work with families, groups, and environments that are cross-cultural or multiethnic, from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, and have diverse family structures.
Through counseling, communication, education, advocacy, and affiliations, we work to create a network that will make mental health support accessible for every child.
